FALL SEASON FALL SEASON

Our Fall season runs from August through November. Many coaches have practices twice a week for their team but some opt to have a single practice a week. (days and times are determined by each coach) The actual soccer games are every Saturday and sometimes Tuesdays for the older divisions.  Our home games are held at McFadden Intermediate School and Dan Young Field #4 at Centennial Park. Please see field rules under "Fields" tab.

In AYSO, we believe Everyone Plays, so your child will have play time whether he/she has never played before or he/she is an experienced player.

The need for referees and referee points

After regular Fall Season AREA "K" begins "AREA" Playoffs.  This is considered extra play as a reward for 10U -14U teams that earned 100% of the required referee points for the region. Points are given to each referee participant of a team and are required to enter the play-off season. They are acquired by parents and/or siblings that complete AYSO referee training and volunteering as referees for other teams and divisions.

An invitation to AREA Playoffs will only be given to teams who have earned their team points. If there is more than 1 team in your division, invitation will be given to the 1st place team within the region as long as they have earned all their referee points. If the first place team fails to earn the necessary referee points, the invitation will be given to the second place team, again, if they have acquired the necessary points.

Point system consists of earning at least twelve referee points a season (per team) to take your team to AREA K playoffs.

Referee Points Explained

Only AYSO certified registered referees who have completed the course AND IN UNIFORM, will be able to receive these points. Referees can assign points to any team but points can only be assigned once.

Points are available as follows:

• 3 points as a Center Referee (in 10U-19U divisions only)
• 1 Point as a Referee in 8U games
• 1 Point as an Assistant Referee (sideline referee)

Sign-ups for games will be available by emailing commissioner@ayso517.org or signing up on www.matchtrak.com .  Remember, first come first serve, so sign up early. Referees are allowed to give points to whomever team they desire, thus allowing a referee multiple games. We encourage this to get as many teams as possible to Playoffs.

Fall 2017 Changes Fall 2017 Changes

AYSO has switched to Calendar Year for divisions to align with other youth soccer organizations as per US Soccer Federation Initiative Your child may move up one division  based on birth YEAR not age. The chart is available HERE

All divisions will be renamed with the U after the division number. For instance the old U12 is now called 12U.

There still is NO HEADING in 12U and below.

There will no longer be punting allowed in 12U and 10U for goal keepers.

There will be what is called a BUILD-OUT LINES in 10U to promote playing the ball out of the back field.

New rule implementation for 6U and 8U is that all throw-ins will be replaced with a PASS-IN to put ball into play.
